Published in Entertainment | Wednesday, 03 February 2016

Mainza Miriam Mufugi is the PTL #WomansCrush of the Week. She’s a foodie, music lover and is currently studying Development Studies and also works at Bittersweet Poetry (Zambia). Know more:

What’s your best quality?
Wow! Never thought of that, but probably uhmmm that I'm a “social intellectual”. Does that term exist? No? [Laughs] Anyway, I'm able to relate really well with people of all ages from the get go. I'm a people person.

How would your friends describe you?
I'd like to believe they'd describe me as entertaining and funny. Depends on who you're asking though.

Tell us something about you that few people know.
I am extremely emotional bruh. Like my tears are always ready to flow. Have you seen that Disney “Jump In” movie? I cried watching that. If someone is extremely nice to me, best believe I’m gonna curl myself in bed and cry about it [laughs]/ I can't deal with myself sometimes. But I'm not about to show everyone that side of me.

What’s your secret fear?
My mind went blank at "secret". I really don't know though hey.

Name one thing we’d never catch you doing?
Swimming. You would Never EVER catch me swimming. [Laughs] Why do y’all do that? Ya'll play too much. Water is for drinking. And yes I do bathe, just not in huge volumes of water.

Who’s your celebrity crush?
Hahaha! Ooowww man *hides face*. I don't have one. I just can't. When I think I'm about to have one, BAM! I’m hit with negative news about them, the media is so cold. Geez.

What’s your most embarrassing moment?
[Laughs] Do you really wanna know? Eish, this is so embarrassing. I don't even know how to explain this. A couple months ago I was having lunch with a girlfriend at Hungry Lion. So like you know the bins they have there, I had never used one before so I didn't know what to do. Instead of pushing my trash through the thingy at the top, I opened the part used to put in the bin and shoved the trash to the top. I get back to the table and she's like dude, you know you throw your stuff through the top right? My cool self said it was full and I didn't want stuff falling out, I don't know how that made sense in my head. A minute later someone goes and throws their stuff the proper way. I was scarred after that. I have never used those bins since. I wonder how many people saw that. *shrugs*.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?*?
A banker hey. Still wanna be that. Gimme 5 years. If I’m not in the bank catch me on TV. I'm serious though.

How can a guy win you over?
Food. Food. Food. Eating makes me happy. That is all.

What’s your favorite movie, and why?
About Last Night with Kevin Hart movie. I’ve literally watched it more than a dozen times. But one movie has really gotten to me just recently – War Room. That movie is like my life guide. If you have not yet seen it, I can give it to you.

Do you have a nickname?
Too many. My fave is Fugi though. Short of my last name.

Your motto is?
Ecclesiastes 11:9 - "Young people, enjoy your youth. Be happy while you are still young. Do what you want to do, and follow your heart's desire. But remember that God is going to judge you for whatever you do."

Be happy but don't waste your life.
